Holiday Hacks And Advice This Season!

We’ve only got one more week to get through until Christmas! I’ve gotta say, the time flew by fast this month! Thankfully I’m basically done with all my Christmas shopping. But I know tons of you out there may only be starting….so here are some ideas on how to save money on gifts and wrapping paper, along with some quick gift guides!

The Presentation: Gift Wrap!

So you’re already spending tons of money on gifts, but then you have to spend even more money on gift wrap?! Wrapping paper and accessories can add up, but it will be less of an expense if you find them for the best prices!

Last year I literally went to Walmart and purchased cheap wrapping paper (yes, the ones that rip easily), $1 gift bags, and gift tags. I probably spent less than $30, although I don’t even remember the exact amount because that’s how much it did not affect me.  I did have quite a few presents, but definitely not as much as this year.

This year I felt like being more creative with gift wrapping. Don’t get me wrong, the Walmart option is completely fine and will definitely save you money. But you can also decorate your wrapped gifts with style for not as much as you think! Head out to Marshall’s and TjMaxx for all the best gift wrap (prices and styles)! The three gifts wrapped with the larger bows in the photo above are all wrapping from Marshall’s. Each roll of wrapping had about 30ft of paper for $3.99 each! The rolls of ribbon had a large amount, around 36ft, for $4.99 each. Those are pretty good deals to make your gift presentation stand out!

This pastel pink wrapping paper with gold metallic polka dots was too cute to pass up! This roll of paper was actually a little more pricer, purchased at Target in their Sugar Paper line for $6 each roll for 30ft. This was the only roll I purchased outside of Marshall’s, but I highly recommend Marshall’s for all gift wrap options!

If you insist on using gift wrap from last year, or wrapping paper that isn’t as cute, just layer on some bows! It totally changes the look of the paper and adds some spice to it! Just get a wider ribbon and layer on a thinner decorative ribbon on top to creative this look of definition!

How to: Save on Gift Shopping!

There’s tons of sales during the holiday season, so you almost never have to buy anything at retail price! I think the best thing you can do is sign up for email alerts from different websites, because they do send coupons or alert you on new sales or free gifts with purchases. Sign up for email alerts from Kohl’s, Macy’s, Victoria’s Secret, Hollister, Steve Madden, Kylie Cosmetics, MAC, Kate Spade, Forever 21, Too Faced, Ulta, and Bath and Body Works. I noticed those stores always send the best coupons and deals! You can always unsubscribe to them after the holidays if you’re worried about a full inbox!

Kohl’s has amazing deals in my opinion! Most of their items are on sale everyday, and they send a lot of emails with 20% off which you can use in conjunction with dollar off discounts like a random $15 off coupon they may send you! They also have 15% off right now until Christmas! Most of the time if you spend over $50 they give you a $10 Kohl’s cash which you can also use in conjunction with a percent off coupon. And if you sign up for their free Yes2You Rewards, you get 1 point for every dollar you spend and you will receive $5 off coupons regularly depending on your points. They have tons of designer clothing (Like Lauren Conrad, Juicy Couture, Vera Wang, JLo, and Marc Anthony) and also have tons of accessories, stocking stuffers, and even home decor.

The email alert system has really helped me get some great deals, and for last minute gift giving I think it’s the best option so you can run the store with them coupons, girl!

Last Minute: Gift Guide!

Make your last minute gift shopping a smooth sale (get it?! lol!) using the tips above and also with these quick gift ideas:

The NutriBullet is a great gift for male or female! I got one as a gift from my dad a couple years ago and use it often. I feel healthy using it to create smoothies with real fruits and yumminess! You can easily purchase this at Target, Kohl’s, or Macy’s and if you have a coupon that’s even better!

Bath and Body Works has super cute gifts this year! This set with the gift bag is less than $40! They also have different sets and bags to choose from. You can never go wrong with a gift from Bath and Body!

The Kylie Cosmetics Holiday set is super cute for any makeup lover! It has over $231 worth of products for only $125. Hurry and order to get it before Christmas!

For the men may be a little difficult sometimes, but you can never go wrong with cologne, like the Giorgio Armani,  a new leather wallet, a beanie, sports team attire, a watch, some new Nikes, or workout gear.

Don’t stress this holiday season! Do what you can and have fun! Find those deals and finish your shopping this week!
