I apologize if this dress is a little risqué, but these side slit dresses have been all the rage lately, and I wanted to try it out! It’s true, you’ll never know unless you try; so I thought it would be different to try the side slit look for this shoot. I’m sure you’ve seen tons of girls on Instagram wearing these side slit dresses, especially the long maxi dresses with the side completely split open from their waist down. I was never down with that, but when I saw this dress at the store, I decided to give it a shot.

After wearing this side slit mini dress I decided: it’s not for me. I would definitely not wear this in public, that’s for sure. One guy actually walked by while shooting these photos…awkward…but I think he was a crackhead so I didn’t feel too embarrassed, haha! The slit is a little too much, and with a little breeze the dress flows up which will definitely show some booty…

From the front it’s less noticeable, but still…I can’t even think of one place someone would find this outfit appropriate?! I think it’s a great ‘photoshoot’ outfit, but if you’re meeting people in person with this outfit, it’s a little too much.

I paired it with these over the knee lace up boots, which I think are great to wear with short dresses for the winter. Being able to wear cute dresses in winter is definitely still possible, especially if you just cover your legs with boots!

 

What are your thoughts on these side slit dresses that have been trending? I would wear these for modeling photoshoots but definitely not in public…that’s a big way for me to feel self conscious! It’s definitely one of those ‘LOOK AT ME‘ outfits! Let me know how you wear these dresses!
