Birthday and Outfit
I celebrated my birthday this past March 12th weekend! I chose to wear this adorable LC by Lauren Conrad high low blouse, with a cute bow detail on front. I wore black cotton shorts underneath for the finished look. It was the perfect outfit for my birthday, girly and cute.
Surprise
I had to plans to visit my moms house for my birthday, so on Saturday afternoon Joseph and I headed up there. When we arrived, I opened the front door to see a trail of various balloons floating along the floor! It was so cute, and I was very surprised! I walked into the kitchen to see the table completely decorated with birthday party favors, from the tablecloth to the table tops! Birthday presents surrounded the table with even more adorable balloons everywhere. I hadn’t had a ‘birthday party’ in awhile, so this came to me as a surprise and I felt very special!
Food
My mom and Db greeted me, as well as my sister and her boyfriend. At my request, my mom made her specialty tacos and had them ready for when we arrived. We all ate an amazing lunch of tacos and corn, then afterwards DB made me a delicious smoothie, tricking me that it had pineapple at first (which I hate) haha!
Decorations
My mom is so cute for going all out and decorating for my birthday! She’s so creative in all the items she decorated with (I hope it gives you some birthday party ideas for the next one you throw!), especially the balloons floating around everywhere! I know her cat, Bugsy, was loving the balloons. My sister got me the pink and white balloons, with a pink smiley face weight at the bottom. She went through hell to get those balloons at Safeway, having a funny story about how the lady was ‘ignoring’ her which made her become frustrated but those balloons were ‘perfect’ so she had to get them. haha! Thanks sees, they are perfect!
Presents
Soon everyone wanted me to open gifts. I first opened an adorable pink and gold polka dotted bag from my sister. I’m not sure exactly what was in that bag in particular, but I know she got me a cute card, a delicious smelling pink candle, lotion, a pink shower cap (which I have been wanting!), a cute crop top, a pink and gold notebook with a Sephora gift card in it (!!), and a Juicy Couture perfume roller ball. I absolutely love everything Sees, I would never ask you to buy all these items for me, but I appreciate it so much!
My mom then handled me a cute tote bag with all her gifts in it. She got me the cutest cupcake card, an adorable lipstick pillow (that will be put on my vanity chair!), the bareMinerals Birthday set (that comes with a birthday pin, lipgloss, eyeliner and mascara), pink fuzzy socks, a new Real Techniques blending sponge (good, because mine ripped!), a Betsey Johnson heart mug, Turbie towels (can’t wait to try them), salon shampoo and conditioner, a pen that shouts ‘NO’! (so hilarious!), a bunch of candy, a cute meme trinket, eyelashes, and a ‘Keep Calm and Sniff’ tissue pack (inside joke, because I HATE Keep Calm products, haha!). Thank you for everything mama!! Everything you did for my birthday is very much appreciated, thank you for all the time you spent doing this for me! I love you!
After I opened my moms gifts, my sister handed me another box from her. (Which is why I forgot which gifts were in what box/bag.) “I bet mommys gifts made mine look small, I bet you didn’t think I had more presents for you,” she said as she handed me a cute floral box. I undid the bow on the box and opened the lid. Everyone was filming my reaction as I lifted the lid and saw TONS of eyelashes inside. I started laughing and so did everyone else. My sister was so creative in giving me a box full of eyelashes, which has secretly always been my dream, because I LOVE eyelashes! That was a great surprise, until my sister said “Lift the paper the eyelashes are on, there’s still more stuff underneath!” More stuff?! Wow! I lifted the eyelashes off to see more goodies in the box. There was a Rollerlash mascara (my favorite ever!), and an adorable small box that said “Enjoy the Little Things.” When I opened it there was a small square box wrapped in cute wrapping paper. I unwrapped it to reveal the eyeshadow palette I’ve been wanting for the past month: the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly palette!! I wanted to purchase this when Ulta had it for sale ahead of time, but never had a chance too. It hit stores the other day I believe, but its sold out everywhere now. My sister was so cute enough to get it ahead of time, and I can’t believe she did! I believe I was telling her how I wanted it, and she knew me enough to get it. I love her so much for that! What a great and amazing surprise! I will be doing a review on the palette soon!
Cake Time
Afterwards, they brought out the cake for me! Everyone began singing then put the cake in front of me: an adorable pink purse cake that said ‘Happy Birthday Micala!’ This is one of the cutest cakes I’ve ever had! It was so cute and extremely delicious, it was Reese’s ice cream cake!! Mmmm!!!!
Food (Again)
Later that evening we ate Singang (again to my bday request), which is a Filipino soup my mom made. It was so delicious, it’s seriously the best soup ever, and everyone needs to try it! Its a soup with rice, vegetables, and rib meat in it. DELICIOUS! We watched the movie Creed afterwards, which was an OK movie (My sister fell asleep). I spent time with everyone and we all talked and hung out for hours. Later that night we watched the movie Annabelle, yes, the creepy one with the possessed doll. That movie was pretty good, just really creepy. My sister and I screamed at quite a few parts, which was hilarious, because we would start laughing afterwards haha! (And no, my sister didn’t fall asleep on this one, and it was like after 12am haha!)
Next Day
We spent the night there and woke up to an amazing breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon. Mmm!!! I want to thank my mom and DB for all the work they did in preparation for my birthday weekend! Also to my sister for all the goodies she got me which she didn’t have to, and what she went through to get those balloons (lol)! So far this has been one of the best birthdays! I love that most of my family was here to spend it with me and all the surprises that entailed! I felt like such a princess and young girl, which I craved how I hope my birthday would be, and it was just that!
Joseph’s lovely sister Sharon (my woman crush forever) also took me to dinner at Texas Roadhouse on my birthday and gave me a Visa gift card which she did not have to do! They also took me out bowling and I had a great time. Sharon is super sweet and made my birthday even better!
